I want to start teaching my 3 yr old daughter to play the organ, and I'm looking for an appropriate method. I took organ lessons in school -- I never got to an advanced level, but I also played clarinet and accordion, so I'm confident I can at least teach her well for a while at home, anyway. When I started organ, I could already read music and had a clue about the keyboard. So I'm not sure how to go about this with her. We'll be using a Kimball home organ.
Browsing the internet, I've found Wayne Leopould's (I'm sure I misspelled that now) Discover the Basics series, but I'm concerned that is too rigorous for her short attention span. I also found Piano for Preschoolers, which uses color coded notes along with a color strip on the keyboard. It seems like it would be fun for her and give her success more quickly, but it also seems overpriced to me, and I don't know if this is the best approach or not. My daughter knows her colors, letters, and numbers very well, can count fairly well, and wants to play the organ, but has a short attention span.
So, any advice or suggestions on methods or instruction books would really be appreciated!
