I acutally do play, (or did untill the keys started sticking) a double row concertina, from when I wanted an organ sound beyond the reach of electric lines.Lightning I also played an acoustic guitar (mostly folk) which tells you you when I learned them.Snail Now I just take a portable keyboard.

I also have a tenor recorder I still oil up and play from time to time. And such pianos, clavichords, piano accordians, etc. as I come across.Wink

Its just possible you haven't grasped the situation.

In addition to the organ (classical and Hammond), I play piano (of course), harpsichord, Horn, handbells, and carillon.

What company concertina do you have?
First they came for the ABC consoles, then they came for the older consoles. When they finally got to the spinets, they were all gone.

Re: What other instruments do you play?

i play violin (badly), viola (pretty well), banjo, piano, and occasionally handbells, I dabble in guitar and bass, and have tried to play wind instruments, but fail horribly

Once you can tie your arms into a pretzel and your legs into a knot, you've got it under control

Band wants mobility, very recently forced me to resort to playing a MIDI Keytar (A friend's Roland AX-7). Interesting how easy the transition was to playing vertically after playing horizontally all my life.

Quite a fun instrument to play, I'm going to have to invest in one of my own! Although, suddenly I get the urge to play 1980's new wave... Tongue Tied

Well I play a Wurlitzer accordion, Carter style flat top guitar (Gibson J-40) a Yamaha keyboard, and had a harmonica as a kid...although I haven't played one in years.

Re: What other instruments do you play?

I currently play piano and organ, and occasionally harpischord.  I own a clavichord, but don't play it very often.

I have performed upon each of these: Harmonium, French Horn, Trombonium, Euphonium, Baritone, Saxophone, Violin, Flute, Piccolo, Recorder, and (drum roll...) Accordion.  Geeked

I've played a few other instruments very casually, such as a Ukelele and a Calliope.

After it's all said and done, I won't be happy until get a Theremin!  Left HugMusic  Or an Ondes Martinot.

With the Organ and Piano being my first love. I enjoy the Bass. To reach those lower frequencies I use the Chapman Stick and Zeta electric upright bass.

Hey, S32; you made me think of a great line from an episode of the Simpsons.  The family hears a thump in the attic followed by Theremin music.  Marge says:  "Homer, there's a ghost in our attic!"  Homer responds:  "How dare that ghost invade our attic and how dare him play my Theremin!"

    LOL!!

    Party!!!

I don't think I've seen that one. I do remember one about the twin towers that was actually really funny, but they don't show that one anymore out of respect.

Re: What other instruments do you play?

I would also like to get a Theremin or Ondes-Martenot. I'm going to get a Etherwave Theremin in a few months, but the Ondes Martenot...not so likely.

    Have: Allen 301, Crumar T1, Hammond E-311 + RT-2 + T-212, Korg DW-6000, Mason And Hamlin Style 802, Moog Micromoog, Rhodes Mk1 Suitcase 88, WurliTzer console, Yamaha E-70 + DX21 + DX7

Re: What other instruments do you play?

I started building my original theremin to the original design of the RCA model, that is until I realized there was no way I was going to find NOS tubes circa 1920's for less than a fortune.

I then went for a more modern design I found on the internet. My first attempt failed (my coils were really messed up). The second attempt worked, but the tuning coils had such a narrow band that you could only play within about 8 inches of range. I then modified it to give  a narrower frequency range, and a broader capacitance range.

It works, but not nearly as good as the Moog models. But hey, a fraction of the cost!

I'm surprised! I haven't seen that one in years, I assumed they just stopped showing it.

I ordered my concertina over a month ago, (when I started this post I believe) it has yet to arrive from Italy. Getting really anxious.
