My X-77 is a tonewheel organ, but it's not on your list. I was so sad! Neither is the X-66. Didn't it have one octave of tone wheels?

Oh yes, I forgot about the X's. I was so caught up with the "older" models, I plumb forgot about them.
And with that note, Presto! They magically appear.

My tonewheel is a T-200 spinet. It's not on the list.

Re: Which Model Tonewheel Hammond do you Own?
I like my M107 better than any tonewheel I have played, but I would like it better if it were a console. But there is no real equivalent to it in a console, The A100 is not it ... no vibrato celeste, pedal sustain, or multiple percussion voicing. Anybody have a candidate?![Hmm [^o)]](/emoticons/emotion-40.gif)

Maybe a H-100 would do the trick?
I dont know too much about them, but I think they meet those requirements.

Actually the "Vibrato Celeste" on the M series is different than the slow-scan celeste on the H series. The E series consoles (E-100, etc) had tabs like the M-100. It had several percussion voices with a reiteration tab, built-in reverb, and the same vibrato selections as the M-100 (also the same as the T series spinets). Of course, you have separate "vibrato on" tabs for each manual on the E-series consoles. I think there may have been a much older "E" series back in the B-2 days, but I am referring to the E series from the 1960's.
The 4 vibrato variation tabs on the E-series consoles are: Vibrato Small, Vibrato Chorus, Vibrato Celeste I, Vibrato Celeste II. With all the tabs up the vibrato is "normal".
That being said, I liked the H series better than the E series, but if that it what Lee is looking for...

There is an "E" on Ebay right now:

There is also another "E" on the theatreorgan classifieds:

Yes,Brown Wizard, your info is right on, though I don't remember that the E-100s percussion was of the plunk variety, but I could live without that. The older E's were in fact contemporary with the A, and were sold out of the leftovers in the warehouse even after the war, just in time for the RT- (1/V) to replace it in 1949.
I have seen more H-100 than Es, and few of them were working completely (usually vibrato problems): But I loved the extra drawbars!! ![Surprise [:O]](/emoticons/emotion-3.gif)

The percussion voices were things like chimes, xylophone, marimba, harp, etc. If you are trying to emulate a 2nd or third harmonic percussion, then some thing like celesta would be close.

Re: Which Model Tonewheel Hammond do you Own?
There was just too much vibrato gear in the H! Great when it all worked though. As for the percussion, some of the 'usual' T series mods may work in the H or E, but you'd have to check it out. The Celesta is 4' [2nd harmonic] anyway, and the Guitar can be sacrificed for the 3rd harmonic.
Voted for the T series, BTW. Could have been X66, but I unfortunately don't own one - yet!

It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

I loved playing H's when I was young. The slow-scan celeste and the extra drawbars really made the H more pipe like in its tone. It's really too bad the bean counters won over the engineers on that one. If the engineers had been allowed to design the vibrato scanners correctly, the H's would still sound great. It has vibratos you can't find on any other Hammond. And the X-66 is the only other Hammond with the slow-scan celeste. It had a shimmer that a slow Leslie couldn't match.

Re: Which Model Tonewheel Hammond do you Own?
Hi,
I currently have an original Model E (1937)(2nd owner) paired up with a Hammond PR-40 and 31H Leslie (now with Hamptone 2 speed switch). It's the best of all the previous Hammond's I've owned.

Re: Which Model Tonewheel Hammond do you Own?
I just got my DV circa 1940. I'm the 3rd owner and the last owner bought it shortly before WWII. Had to replace all the tubes. Did some mods to enable a 1/4" output and am running it through a Motion Sound Pro3T/Low Pro setup. It sounds amazing! It has a bigger sound than any of the b-3's that I've heard. Also doesn't have the "foldback" on the sub-fundamental so it really cranks out the bass!
